Clear Day and A Full Mind [Meleny and Drake] « Thread Started on Sept 8, 2007, 1:18pm »
Meleny was sitting down by the lake staring into space. She was thinking of her encounter with Snape in the hospital wing and all the injured students there. She still couldn't get the screams of pain out of her head. Every night, she had dreams about the Carrows terrorizing the students. She sighed deeply and looked around hoping for someone to come along. She didn't care if it was a Slytherin, she needed someone to talk to to get her mind off the current events at Hogwarts.

What a gloomy day it had been. Clouds looming over the grounds, friends in the Hospital Wing, the idea of the Dark Lord coming to get them at any time. Would have been enough to get anyone down. Especially an already dreary Slytherin, who's troubles were doubled because of the Order of the Phoenix. Calling meetings here and there. However was he supposed to get there on time? Whilst managing to keep a Death Eater like cover at Hogwarts. Impossible, I tell you.
Drake Delacroix rubbed the back of his neck, a long sigh escaping his lips as dark eyes glazed over the Black Lake. There was already somebody sitting there, alone, it seemed. Drake may not have been a Hufflepuff, or anywhere near one, but he could still dedicate a bit of time to cheering up. Maybe his family was right. He just might have been an insult to Slytherin's everywhere. Oh, such a pity.
"Mind if I join you?" the young man asked the girl in a gentleman like manner, his head twisting to look down at her.

Meleny smiled when she heard another voice. "no I don't mind. I'm Meleny."she spoke in her usual soft, calming voice. She had never met this Slytherin before but she had to admit he had manners unlike she had never seen before. The Slytherins she knew, Draco Malfoy, Harlyn Hale and Danielle Cullen being examples were just plain rude.

The Slytherin fell back gracefully onto the grass, making sure to offer as much space between he and the girl as possible. He was very respectable about other people's personal space, you see. Dark eyes glanced over at the girl, gaze searching her face in hopes of putting to rest the familiarity. He had known her from somewhere. And then it hit him. She was a Gryffindor. He had seen her mostly in Order meetings, though, had never really known her name, just her face.
"I'm Drake, nice to meet you." the boy extended his hand, hoping for a handshake to finalize their meeting. He had nothing against Gryffindors, of course. You couldn't when you knew that it was because of one or two personality quarks that you were not sorted into that house. That was always where he was torn, you see. Between Gryffindor and Slytherin. The age-long battle between good and bad raging inside his mind every day. At least, that's what the Sorting Hat, had told him.
